busy Friday

I'm so very happy to have my camera back! This is one of the gorgeous double daffs that is blooming now - must be one of the last, I think. Most of the others are finished, and soon the foliage will start to die back, which is the saddest part of daffodils (and the scruffiest).
The toilet fairy visited my house today - woohoo! Earlier this year I made a pact with Ray that he would do the toilets (well, actually, I told him he had to, or else! LOL). Growing up in a family with only sisters, I never realised that little boys could make a toilet so icky!! See, in my ideal house, the toilet cubicle would be seamless stainless steel, with a drainage outlet in the floor, the cistern would be all porcelain (no plastic), and I would have a steam cleaner to go in there and just blast the whole thing once a week, bowl and walls and floor and all. But until that happens, Ray will have to clean them - I totally detest cleaning toilets. I can change poopy nappies, clean up cat puke (at a pinch, actually), and help a cow deliver a calf, but I draw the line at the job of cleaning the toilet. Anyway, they smell nice and fresh again.
And I met some neighbours (for the first time, we've only been here almost three years, don't want to rush these things!) and walked a ways with them this morning - only nice people out here! The walking is making me feel so much better, physically and mentally - I can go further now, and not dragging my feet so much. And just the alone time, me and the birds, and the music of my iRiver (it's been Sara Storer for the past two weeks, probably time for a change), a half hour with my thoughts in the morning seems to set me up for the rest of the day far better than I've been for the longest time.
I was supposed to have my blood pressure checked today, went for my 10am appointment, waited a half-hour (so not good for the bp, by the way), inquired at the desk as to when I might expect five minutes from the nurse, to be told she still had a few things to do over at the hospital. Why make appointments if the nurse isn't actually available? So I said I wouldn't wait any longer, and no, I didn't want to come back in the afternoon. I had several errands in town, and a bit of shopping, and was trying to get home as soon as I could so that Ray could get on with his day's work on the farm. I'll try at the Pharmacy next week, I think they do them. Otherwise, I just won't get it checked until I get back to the doctor in a few weeks. Such is life.
The store is down at SBB, and with Amy and most of the team away for the weekend at the convention, I don't suppose it will be up anytime soon - there will be lots of cranky scrappers this weekend, unable to get their weekly kit fix LOL. Several stores are having sales for the convention weekend, might have to check out some new (for me) designers.
At least I scrapped today! I started a layout with some freebie wordart for the quote challenge at DigiscrapDivas, but kind of went in a different direction with the layout. I used some papers from Trish Jones' Fancy Free kit (at Modscraps). Simple, and lots of white space, but it suits me.
