mid-week
Still getting over the busy weekend. Seems like there is just too much to do, too many things on. I went to the church Ladies' Fellowship Christmas party-breakup tonight, nice to meet some of the ladies in the local church. Yummy dinner too.
Another full weekend coming up. Isaiah's birthday (he will be 4 - my baby!) and Grace's a few days after, so Dad is coming to visit on Saturday. Isaiah has requested a train cake - I really should have destroyed the Women's Weekly Children's Party recipe book! But seeing as the other boys have all had one, I have to make one for him too. But this really will be the very last time I do one of these! seriously! Saturday is also the Yarram Show - we still haven't made it to one, as they always fall on this birthday weekend.
Sunday we were hoping to visit James to wish him a happy birthday, but we won't be now. So we will be able to get along to the Inaugural Bolger's Bash - a BBQ/street party for the road that fronts our farm, a huge meet-and-greet block party, I suppose. Organised by Tom Reakes (ambo/paramedic, lay preacher, community-spirited all-round great-guy) this should be a great day, and a fabulous opportunity to meet some more of our 'neighbours' - even those that live a few miles up the road from us LOL.
After the birthdays are finished, we will be able to start getting into Christmas stuff. I don't want the kids' birthdays to get lost in the lead-up to Christmas, so we don't start decorating, etc, till after they are done. But I did put the fruit in to soak for the christmas cakes today, will bake them tomorrow or Friday - I normally have them done in October! Then there are the christmas cards to organise, and I'd better see about getting a group photo pretty darned soon if I'm going to have one to send to all the far-away friends and relatives.
I managed to scrap a layout for the journalling/font challenge at DigiscrapDivas today - a 'thankful' layout, for the leadup to Thanksgiving in the US. Previous years I have felt a bit disenfranchised by the bias towards American holidays and events, but this year I am seeing this as more of an opportunity to reflect on the many blessings I have to be thankful for. I have been making a list in my scrappy notebook for a few months now, so the journalling wasn't hard to create, but it took ages to pull together all these photos and resize them! I finally got to use some of the freebie doodles by Angie Briggs, and the paintbrush strokes by Michelle Coleman. I guess this page is more in the style of an art journal entry, and I tried real hard not to line everything up! Anyway, I am really pleased with how this came out.

How can you say "Everything Is Just Right" and not make it sound plain? This layout is anything but plain. Gorgeous, I love this page. I may have to scraplift if you don't mind.
How beautiful! I love all the images and all the wonderful things and people you have to be thankful for!
