quickly quickly

Gotta catch up before we head off for the weekend! Liss, don't read this until Saturday night!

Thursday saw a couple of my plans change. Kathy at Digiscrap Divas asked if I could step in for Dani Mogstadt who couldn't make it to her scheduled chat on Thursday night (US time). Fortunately, I had uploaded a kit for a planned crop next week, so I said yes, of course! And Jenny phoned in the afternoon about Melissa's baby shower, and asked if I could make a small gift album. Again, I said yes, of course.

Only problem, I was coming down with a cold/flu thing, and felt pretty rotten. I phoned one of the scrapbooking ladies to see if she could step in for me with the local scrapping group on Thursday night, and we ended up cancelling the night, as she personally knew a few of the ladies weren't coming - everyone is starting to be real busy with end-of-year stuff.

So, Friday was real busy. I had to go into town to have my bp checked again (and yay! it has come down some at last!), do some shopping, go to the bank, etc. And of course I got caught in the main street when they shut it down just before 11am for Remembrance Day activities. There is something incredibly poignant about the single trumpet playing the last post.

Back home by midday, just wanting to collapse, but had a cuppa and a sandwich and started on the slices for the party, and Kate made chocolate truffles. Brownie was still in the oven at 2pm when the chat started. The ladies at the chat were very positive about my kit (I was a bit nervous about how it would be received), and I think it was a lot of fun - there were just over 20 people who showed up, although some had come for Dani's chat, most were happy to stay anyway.

So just after 3pm, time to start the mini-album! Trawl the 'net for some instructions (gotta love Google!) and gather supplies, decide on size, etc. Only problem, I put the first one together wrong! So had to start over at about 4.30, and scrape together another batch of cardstock, etc. Got dinner, bathed the kids, packed the clothing for the weekend, and got back to the album after the kids were in bed. I finished just before midnight, and am pretty pleased with it. Gonna take some photos when the daylight is stronger, and will post them when we get home, just in case my 'lil sister sees this entry before her party.

At least my cold seems to be getting lighter, my head isn't so full this morning, although I could have done with a few more hours sleep. We are planning to leave in a few hours, as we have some shopping to do on the way. See ya on Sunday night!
