quick catch-up

Well, Saturday was personally disappointing (nobody was very interested in the 'craft in the park'), but overall, the festival got off to a great start. Our little country town is overflowing with visitors for the long weekend, and the various artists' exhibitions were well patronised. The Open Gardens haven't been very busy, which is a shame, as several local sculptors have organised their exhibitions within the gardens.

After church, we drove up to the furthest open garden, and the owner showed us around his amazing garden. The Tarra River runs past the property, and provides a beautiful backdrop, as well as several gravity-fed water features. And always, in the background, was the delightful music of the shallow river tumbling along the rocky river-bed.

After lunch, the girls and I headed into town, and did the rounds of the various exhibitions. It is just amazing to realise so many creative and talented people live nearby - I'm hoping that some of the creativity I have seen in the past couple of days will rub off on me!

The ladies at the hall I am supervising graciously allowed me to take some photos of their exhibits, so I can see a scrap-page coming up soon (as soon as I'm not so stinking tired, that is!)
I think my favourite from the weekend are these bags - just awesome! Lots of findings, lace, feathers, bling and antique fabrics, all put together to make these gloriously feminine evening bags (just too special!) You can check them out
here.

I need to make the base cake for Kate's birthday cake tonight - she has ordered a white chocolate fudge cake in the shape of a heart, with pink frosting and mini-mallows! Jenny and Glenn and the cousins, and Dad and Ros are coming for her birthday (Cup Day) bbq lunch, so will be making salads tomorrow, and creating the cake, in between running back and forth to the hall as needed. No scrapping in sight for a few days.
