mutterings

Well, so much for ordering Simple Scrapbooks Digital 4 - I got an email to say it wasn't in stock yet, not sure when it will be! well DUH! don't put it in your online store until it arrives! gotta send an email to cancel that order when I am not so cranky.

Feeling seriously disconnected again, scrapping funk is deeply settled, not sure what the solution is. I spend hours fiddling with files, moving stuff around, but not actually creating anything. Frustrating.

Ratings period is ending this week, all our favourite shows are ending (how about the last CSI Miami, eh? no happy endings for Horatio), gearing up for the summer silly season, when all the duds return. Great incentive to get out in the garden, or maybe scrap some. If only.

Finally got the cd out of the Designing With Digital book too. First try almost killed my computer! Some adhesive from the packaging had stuck to the cd and almost fried the drive. Much polishing and gentle scraping (I mean, you can't really use eucy oil to remove sticky gunge from a cd, right?) and I put it in (tentatively, fingers crossed), killed the autorun (gee I hate those), transferred the files, unzipped, and VOILA! What an amazing resource! loads of brushes (think Anna Aspnes, Rhonna Farrer, Dena Simoneux), a couple page templates from Rhonna, and kits kits KITS. I really want to play with this some, and delve more into the non-paper style layouts that I love so much, but really suck at.

Another rant ahead (avert your eyes). This book/cd package cost me AU$40.90 (including postage) from an online US store (NOT 2Peas, who haven't even shipped the book to the poor sods who pre-ordered there). Now, as books go, it is pretty to look at, lots of lovely layouts, but I'm not big on idea books that are really only galleries of layouts. The kicker here is the value represented on the cd! This is so much better value than 2 Peas kits! There are three Rhonna kits on the cd, as well as brushes, elements and templates from Rhonna, not even counting the scads of goodies from other outstanding designers. So for the price of just two 2 Peas kits, look at what I got! If a large publishing house such as Autumn Leaves (which, by the way, is a manufacturer of physical printed papers) places this value on the digital kits, how can anyone justify the outrageous pricing at 2Peas? The arguments are wearing thin. End of rant (for now)

Lots of sales online at the moment, if only I felt motivated enough to buy something. Wow. That's really telling, eh.

Oh, and Happy Thanksgiving to American friends. Take lots of photos, enjoy your family time, don't eat too much.

Scrapbooking tonight in town, need to go organise all the stuff, and maybe find some photos to scrap. Really gonna try.
