HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
Well, it's a hot and stinky start to the new year for us! Yesterday didn't get as hot as forecast (it was hot enough), and the house was taking a long time to cool down in the evening, when the wind changed about 11.30pm, swinging back to the north and filling the house with choking hot air again. Not conducive to a good night's sleep at all! It is barely cooler outside this morning.
Ray has been dismantling the old shed - before it fell down. I loved this old shed, it had so much character LOL. Our neighbour, Arthur, helped build this shed about 40 years ago, using timber from the forest on our properties - I think he will be sad that it is gone. The bottoms of most of the poles are rotting away, and every time we get a severe wind, more tin peels away. I would love to have kept it, but it was in danger of falling down, and could have injured the cattle if they got into it when it came down. Ray has preserved the end lean-to shed where we store firewood for the time being, until he can build another one elsewhere.

June 2004 - look how green it was! not a summer photo LOL

Friday 30/12/05 - Ray had already taken some tin off before I got this photo

Friday 30/12/05 - from behind you can see the angle of lean more clearly - not good!

Saturday 31/12/05 - the fun stuff - pulling things over with the tractor! LOL
Nothing much planned for today, it's too hot to think. Ray's sister Judy phoned last night and we had a great long chat - she would have come for a visit, but I just don't feel good enough, and I don't think she wants flu in the few weeks she is back from the US! We will call in and see her (and look at all her photos!) when we go down to see my sister when she has her baby - it should be this week, as she is well past her due date now.
