phew!

Well, that was a little insane! but lots of fun, and totally worth doing. We are all a bit numb today, just worn out, and the kids are just a tiny bit cranky LOL.

Jenny and Glenn came to Dad's for dinner on Thursday evening, and stayed till 11pm. The kids had a great time, running around the yard after dark is always so much fun. And we did Christmas presents, which we missed because of the whooping cough nonsense.

The Aquarium on Friday was FABULOUS!! I knew from online scrapping friends that photography was allowed inside, so I took heaps of photos, and got a few nice ones. It was hard to shoot pics of the kids and the displays, as there was a lot of flash glare, but I still got some scrappable photos, and a great record of our visit.

The kids were disappointed with the giant squid exhibit, but the rest of the aquarium more than made up for that. We had front-row seats for the feeding in the main fishbowl, and managed to spend almost four hours going around the entire place.

We drove from the aquarium to the hospital to visit Melissa and baby Jessica, and stayed an hour and a half there. The girls had cuddles, but I didn't like to, as I was still coughing too much, and would hate to give that precious little baby an awful chest cold. Melissa and Matt had the kids' Christmas presents there in the hospital, so we had that too!

From there, we drove to my Aunt and Uncle's home, and had yummy roast lamb dinner, and more Christmas presents. Ray and Uncle Denis spent a half-hour assembling the boys' hotwheels set - engineering degree recommended LOL. We got back to my Dad's and had the kids in bed just after 10.30pm.

It seemed to take a long time to get packed up on Saturday morning, but we got away before lunchtime, and called into Ray's sister in Warragul on the way home. She wanted to show us her photos from this past year in the US before she heads back, and she told us all about the bullfighting in Quito, Ecuador too - nice to have such an interesting life! She flies out again January 22nd, and isn't sure if she will be back before next Christmas.

We checked in on James after that, and dropped off a couple more pressies for him too. And he told us about his new job! He starts Monday at a timber processing plant, bottom of the ladder, but lots of training and promotion available, so he is quite positive about this opportunity. YAY!

We got home just before 7pm, unloaded the car, rescued the dog from his run, and discovered 2 chicks had hatched while we were away. Unfortunately, the chicken had left the nest with those two, so the rest of the eggs had gone cold. Sausages in bread for dinner and off to bed pretty early for everyone!

And can you believe that we are planning another trip at the end of the month! I kinda feel a bit visited out, it's good to be home. I'm sure I'm not gonna feel like any more visits for a loooong time after that.

This week will be real busy too - we have VicSwim all this week, so about 4 hours at the pool each day, as the kids are in different sessions. It looks like being pretty hot, so I hope we just don't all get fried to a crisp.

And some scrapping sometime would be nice too! I have a couple of projects I really want to get to.
