yesterday and today

Sunday there was no service at our church, and we decided against the late service in town, as we needed to get the tank cleaned out - it took so long to drain out all the water (33000 litres - sob), it wasn't low enough until yesterday morning. And the syphon would only go so far - we had about 4600 litres to bucket out by hand (over the 7-foot walls) - I scooped the water and handed the bucket up to Ray on the ladder, he emptied it over the top. The water was phew-stinky (smelled like bad shells from the sea that have been sitting in a bucket for a few months), the dead algae and mud we stirred up was enough to make you want to drink beer for the rest of your life! You wouldn't believe the colour of the last foot of water in the tank. I helped Ray bucket out the last bit of water, then he cleaned the walls with a stiff brush, and hosed it all clean. Boy oh boy was my back sore last night.

Today started out cool and overcast, but the sun burned off the cloud by mid-morning and it got pretty warm and humid. Ian phoned to see if the boys could come play with Michael, so we picked up Michael and took them to the pool for an hour before returning the boys to play. Then we did the shopping that got missed all of last week with VicSwim, and home by 3pm again.

I finally got to scrap this afternoon! It seems a bit silly, but I love these mugs that Jenny (my sister) gave us for Christmas - they really are gorgeous! I love the texture of the stoneware, and she knows to give me a mixture of colour (lovely pastels) because I love having an eclectic mixture of crockery (you should see my op-shop collection of everyday plates and bowls - I love it!) So I took a photo to scrap the mugs and had a play with a softer, more shabby page, just to document the simple joy of new coffee mugs!
